«INCLUSIVITY: Beyond Cinema» to Premiere in English at the Fort Smith International Film Festival 2025

At Mi Cine Inclusivo, we continue to push the boundaries of accessibility—extending it beyond language. We are proud to announce the international premiere of the English-dubbed version of our feature documentary INCLUSIVITY: Beyond Cinema at the Fort Smith International Film Festival (FSIFF), which will celebrate its fifth edition from August 7–9, 2025, at the Fort Smith Convention Center in Arkansas, USA.

Dubbing and Inclusion: A Technological and Human Journey

This premiere marks another milestone in our commitment to inclusive filmmaking—from script to distribution. To reach English-speaking audiences, the original Spanish script was professionally translated, and the film was dubbed using state-of-the-art synthetic voices, carefully chosen to preserve the tone and emotional depth of each testimony.

The process was developed in collaboration with Interpunct, a company specializing in linguistic translation and accessibility. With native-speaking translators, they ensured the English version remains accurate, accessible, and culturally faithful to the original.

“Dubbing this film into English aligns with our inclusive vision,” says Miguel Ángel Font, director of the documentary. “Since the film was already going to include English subtitles, we felt it was essential to consider English-speaking audiences who cannot access our work visually.”

Rather than replacing the role of professional voice actors, Artificial Intelligence was used as a strategic accessibility tool—one that helped overcome financial and logistical barriers. This made it possible to preserve the core identity of the more than seventy voices featured in the film.

“Staying true to the original work was made possible through the use of next-generation synthetic voices and a careful translation of the Spanish script into English,” adds Font. “Every technological decision we made serves a greater purpose: to promote inclusive culture beyond Spanish-speaking territories.”

A Collective Portrait of Audiovisual Accessibility

INCLUSIVITY: Beyond Cinema offers a powerful reflection on accessibility within the audiovisual industry. Through interviews with film professionals, people with disabilities, researchers, and institutional representatives, the documentary sheds light on both progress and obstacles in the field. Backed by the General Directorate for People with Disabilities of the City of Valencia, the film aims to inspire future generations of communicators to embrace inclusivity from the earliest stages of their creative process.
