Cultural accessibility can be approached from many different perspectives: a film, a work of art, a training programme or even the way we organise an event.
During our recent stay in Bucharest, we had the opportunity to explore these different perspectives through three activities promoted by the Instituto Cervantes: an artistic intervention at a museum, an accessible screening of the documentary Inclusivity – Beyond Cinema, and an inclusive filmmaking workshop for the Romanian audiovisual sector.
Three different initiatives with the same underlying idea: to integrate accessibility into culture from the outset and to work alongside the people who will ultimately experience it.
This certification, granted by ANECA (National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation) and FECYT (Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology), is not a mere award. It is a rigorous validation of the scientific excellence and editorial quality of the work.
At Mi Cine Inclusivo, we are proud to present the official promotional video for Valencia’s candidacy for the Access City Award 2026, the prestigious recognition granted by the European Commission to cities that demonstrate an exemplary commitment to accessibility, sustainability, and inclusion.
This audiovisual project was born from a bold premise: What if the city of the future already existed? Valencia is not presenting itself based on aspirations, but on what it already represents today: a vibrant, participatory, and real city, where accessibility is not viewed as an add-on, but as a guaranteed right.
At Mi Cine Inclusivo, we believe that accessibility should be a natural component of any audiovisual project, whether artistic, educational, or commercial. Building on our experience in the film industry, we have adapted our Cinematic Accessibility Report to institutional and communication campaigns, with the goal of bringing universal design into tangible and realistic practices in audiovisual marketing.
